Produced for the first time by Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe), with James Barone (Beach House) and Iver Sandøy (Enslaved) behind the recording and mix, the album folds threads of post-punk, American folk, and rock and roll into the sound the band has spent a decade building — a quiet but deliberate step beyond the extreme metal scene that first defined them.
The album's artwork was created by the celebrated artist Tony Stella, renowned for his work within the film poster world. Stella's cover for Riders of the Setting Sun numbers among his final works before his passing earlier this year.
