The Route of Haeresis is high-octane melodic black metal that manages to rather successfully keep one foot in the more modern BM camp while also keeping the other in the more traditional and oft-melancholic Norwegian and Finnish second-wave. No matter how you classify it, though, these songs burst at the seams with stunning tremolo melodies and heavy machine gun-style blastbeats, while always remaining dynamic.
