Kriegsmaschine features the same core duo as Mgla, with the two bands operating in tandem since the early 2000's. Both bands are solidly black metal and naturally feature some commonality, but there are also distinct differences, as while Mgla is a bit more traditionally old-school in their approach, Altered States Of Divinity takes a more dissonant, laidback approach, highlighted by the completely mesmerizing drumwork of Darkside. With few if any blastbeats in sight, he's nevertheless constantly in motion, using fills and flourishes to counterbalance the dissonant guitars. It's an engaging and intriguing listen, and further entrenches this pair as among the best of Polish black metal musicians.
