(RELEASE-DATE JULY 3RD)
Excellent symphonic black metal.
This album sees a major change in the band’s sound. First of all the production’s changed tremendously from their first two efforts although it’s still kind of far from the incredibly polished sound of their newer albums starting from Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and upwards.
The album is drenched in keyboards and they’re extremely well-done. To be honest I prefer Stian’s keyboard melodies to Mustis’, though both individuals are talented and suitable for their eras in the band.
It’s one of Dimmu’s strongest records, probably only weaker than For All Tid and Stormblåst. It’s very consistent, it’s very enjoyable and it should be in your possession. Highly recommended.
Limited edition on Black Green White Crusher Vinyl incl. 12 page booklet in Gatefold cover.
