The Sabbathian seems to have broadened their horizons since Ritual Rites from 2014, mixing goth and black metal influences in with their established occult doom. Though the ethereally hypnotic sound relies heavily on haunting choral arrangements for its central voice, which is done astonishingly, the plodding dirges that Chad Davis from Hour Of 13 creates offer a uniquely dark heart on this stunningly divergent record.
