"The Second Schleswig War of 1864 is considered one of the most pivotal moments of Danish history; The moment where Denmark had to re-evaluate itself and its future upon this bloody and humiliating defeat.

"Blod & Jern" follows the war from the perspective of the suffering; The freezing soldiers surrounded by death, the civilians who will lose fathers, sons and brothers, and the grief which hung over the country afterwards. We have attempted to give this war the consideration it deserves; To hopefully do the scope of this tragedy justice.
