Hiverna leaves the firm foundation of melodic black metal in favour of a more blatantly folky direction, but the flute is used to accentuate rather than to take over or try to appeal to a wider audience. They also ensure that they never drift off into one-dimensionalism, something that more than just one black metal related bands sometimes fall victim to, by cleverly varying tempo and building up great dynamics and flow, guaranteeing you will not get bored during these 58 minutes.
