Hailing from Norway. Despite this project being black metal, these guys play it in a rather unconventional way, sometimes I could even feel some post black influences. Yet this record does not push that side of them as deep as previous material into that realm, probably it is “Eldhug” that is closer to this one, but lacking much of the spite seen in the record. That trait is surely enhanced by the drumming that seems to have evolved and now does an all-terrain approach with a very dynamic performance. Not only that but the vocals, which were not a surprise as seen in previous output, also carries that nihilistic flame even seen when the melody’s tempo is slow. All these ingredients add up, some smaller than others but all of them adorning their amazing songwriting, making this their best output so far.
