(In stock early July.)
The fourth release and second full length by this project of mastermind, O.G.W.A. (also behind Albionic Hermeticism and The Hermetic Order of Ytene).
This album definitely represents a culmination in the works portrayed by this entity thus far, as well as a most victorious heighten in his songwriting abilities. "Consanguineous..." is an astounding triumph in composition, not only making use of O.W.G.A.'s singular guitar style in Black Metal in both riffing as in layering, as well as enriching the sound with various passages embedded with Progressive and experimental elements, beautiful druidic Folk tracks as in the vein of "Mitt Ríce" but more complex and thought through and the ominous solitude of the ambient track, "There Is No Room For God Here".
A beautiful balance between the crude traditionalism of the Neofolk passages and most feral Black Metal outbursts, reflecting the theme of Europe's history of bloodshed; and the progressivism in the use of slow, dragging passages, a unique, varied riffing style and complex layering with various elements from acoustic guitars to droney synthethisers, to more epic and entrancing keyboards. A writing style somewhat akin to early Satyricon but even more daring and heretic in a way, while keeping a profound sense of individualism and dedication, which in the end it's the core and essence of Black Metal.
Grey LP-edition.
