A testimony of both the ancients and the wise, this great album clearly shows how sorely missed Norman is on the field with this particular project, as not many are those musicians who can take care of the treacherous rays of light, insistently penetrating the metal roster, with such deliberate ease. Who wants the light when we can reside under the cloak of its decidedly more seductive opposite? And who better than Norman/Vargher in steering the willingly bewitched audience into this not very visible but intriguing, mysterious world?
A celebration of death this isn’t; this is a new beautifully depressing chapter from the wise man’s odyssey who promises no mirth, no optimism, no philanthropy… but promises no death either. Because only when alive can we truly appreciate the dark, the black, the doom… and possibly join all three for a long, slow mesmerizing dance.
