This one-man band released a fantastic LP in 2021 in the form of Gift Of The Night (a few copies left in stock!), which gave us a primally trancey atmospheric black metal with a garage looseness and attitude – all of which is intensified here on his second release, that comes adorned once more with the art of Thaumaturge Artworks against a stark white background.
Nine tracks of nocturnal black metal with a malevolent streak running through them that creates a savage momentum through the whole album; in thrall to the many characters of the night, whether it be its hot psychedelic humidity or its biting unforgiving cold. Besides Nocturnal Wanderer’s own commanding riff-wielding presence, the album features an excellent cover of The Damned’s Wait for the Blackout that serves as keystone to some of the influences buried inside the raw melodicism inherent in this release!
